Celebrating Black History Month

This month we have been learning about Black History Month. We have spent some time learning about the extraordinary accomplishments of African-Americans like Jackie Robinson, Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Barak Obama, Maya Angelou, Louis Armstrong, and more. We have also explore a plethera of African American literature!

To help us celebrate Black History Month, we had some guest readers visiting our school. We had the opportunity to hear Mr. G read the Leopards Drum and his friend Mr. K, played the African drums for us. We learned a greeting song, listened to some amazing drumming, and had the opportunity to see a cool mask. Thanks to Mr. G and Mr. K for sharing their talents and insights with us!
